I’m pleased to announce that the podcast of an interview with Berkeley, California radio station KPFA-FM is now on-line. For a short but timely discussion of the prospects for U.S.-China trade and tech policy under the Biden administration, click here, and then onto the “KPFA Evening News” link. My session starts at about the 13:50 mark.

(P.S. The interview was conducted just before the inauguration;  hence my reference to “President-elect Biden.”)

In addition, on January 27, IndustryToday.com re-published my post from the da before on the comparatively excellent performance turned in my U.S. domestic manufacturing during the CCP Virus period — and why. Here’s the link.

I’m pleased to announce a return engagement on John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio show tonight. The segment, slated to start at 10 PM EST, will deal with the new tariffs President Trump has imposed on imported solar panels and washing machines, and whether these steps will usher in a new era of U.S. trade policymaking.

You can listen live at this link to what’s sure to be a great discussion involving John, co-host Gordon G. Chang, and me. And as usual, I’ll post a podcast of the interview as soon as one’s available.

In addition, IndustryToday.com just posted my recent RealityChek item on wage stagnation in U.S. manufacturing. Click here to see it.

Moreover, that article referred to in yesterday’s Making News item about alliance defense burden-sharing can be accessed for free after all. Just click here.

I’m pleased to announce that the podcast of my interview last night on John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio show is now on-line. Click here to access a lively discussion among John, co-host Gordon G. Chang, and me, about the China phase of President Trump’s Asia visit.

Also, it was great to see IndustryToday.com this morning run my recent post about multinational companies’ hypocrisy when it comes to the likely effect of Trump-ian trade policies on their global supply chains. Here’s the link.

I’m pleased to announce that I am scheduled to return to John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio show tonight. The subject of the 9:15 PM EST segment: President Trump’s trip to Asia.

You can listen live on-line here, and as usual, I’ll post a podcast of the interview as soon as one’s available.

In addition, this morning, I was quoted in this Lifezette.com article on what would have been a genuinely game-changing, trade-related provision in the House Republican tax reform plan. I say “would have been,” because later today, the provision was removed. But given how frequently the bill’s contents have been changing, it’s still anyone’s guess whether or not it will be resuscitated sometime down the line.

Yesterday, my recent report on the latest Labor Department data on American wage growth (or lack thereof) was re-posted at IndustryToday.com. You can access it at this link.

And I just discovered that this October 18 post from the Korn Ferry Institute featured my views on the implications for businesses of President Trump’s efforts to rewrite the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The Institute is a leading global executive search and management consulting firm.

I’m pleased to announce some new media appearances this week.

First, here’s a link to a long interview on trade, globalization, the U.S. economy – and, of course, the Trump effect – I gave to Larry Rifkin’s America Trends podcast.  It’s nearly an hour, but I hope lots of you will stick with it for at least a while, because Larry is one of the best interviewers I’ve run across in my decades of experience with the media.

Second, IndustryToday, which I’ll shortly start writing for as a regular columnist, has reposted my RealityChek post documenting what a failure the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) has been for American agriculture – despite endless claims to the contrary.  Here’s the link.

Third, on Tuesday, John Carney of Breitbart.com (yes, the one and only) quoted my views in a post he put up on the news that a Chinese entity is thinking of buying the prized Jeep division of Fiat Chrysler.  You can read it at this link.

Finally, Lifezette.com featured my views and manufacturing jobs data in this Monday post on what voters in Rust Belt swing states think of President Trump’s performance so far.

I’m pleased to report that I’ve signed on with the manufacturing publication IndustryToday as a regular columnist.  My articles, which will appear every other month, will be original pieces exclusive for the magazine.  The publication will also be exclusively featuring some of my RealityChek material on a regular basis. Otherwise, however, I’ll be blogging as usual on economics, national security, politics, and other assorted subjects right here, as well as writing other pieces for other websites, newspapers, and magazines whenever the opportunity arises.

This will be my second stint for IndustryToday.  The first was derailed by some technical issues – you can access all those columns by punching my name into the search engine at its website.  But it’s great to be back and I’m grateful to Publisher Susan Poeton for her ongoing interest in my work.

And keep checking in with RealityChek for news of upcoming media appearances and other developments.
