I’m pleased to announce the posting on-line of two podcasts of interviews conducted with me on trade policy subjects.

The first is of Wednesday night’s segment on John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio show covering the latest developments in the U.S.-China trade confrontation. Click here for a great discussion among John, co-host Gordon G. Chang, and me.

The second is a two-parter I did with former Connecticut radio show host Larry Rifkin on his new America Trends podcast series. It’s a wide-ranging examination of America’s position in the world economy and how we’ve arrived here, and although it goes for about 50 minutes in toto, I think you’ll find that sticking with it will be well worth your while if you have any interest in such subjects. Here’s the link to both. And don’t forget to scroll down the page, because the first part is presented below the second!

And keep checking in with RealityChek for news of upcoming media appearances and other developments.

I’m pleased to announce a return engagement on John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio show tonight. The segment, slated to start at 10 PM EST, will deal with the new tariffs President Trump has imposed on imported solar panels and washing machines, and whether these steps will usher in a new era of U.S. trade policymaking.

You can listen live at this link to what’s sure to be a great discussion involving John, co-host Gordon G. Chang, and me. And as usual, I’ll post a podcast of the interview as soon as one’s available.

In addition, IndustryToday.com just posted my recent RealityChek item on wage stagnation in U.S. manufacturing. Click here to see it.

Moreover, that article referred to in yesterday’s Making News item about alliance defense burden-sharing can be accessed for free after all. Just click here.

I’m pleased to post this link to the podcast of my appearance last night on John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio show.  To my surprise, the segment turned into a rousing debate, pitting John and co-host Gordon Chang vs me, over the merits of free trade policies.  Spoiler alert:  I won.  🙂

I’m pleased to announce that I’ll be appearing tonight on John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio show to discuss the dramatic changes currently underway in U.S. economic and security relations with East Asia. Join John, co-host Gordon Chang, and me starting at 10:30 PM EST for what’s sure to be a lively discussion of:

>this week’s summit among President Obama and his Southeast Asian counterparts;

>China’s new challenges to American security interests in Asia; and

>U.S. trade with the region’s protectionist economies.

Click here to listen live. And as usual, for those who can’t tune in tonight, I’ll post a podcast of the segment as soon as it’s available.

For a preview of the broadcast, check out Gordon’s latest column for Forbes.com — which presents some of my views on U.S. trade with Southeast Asia.

I’m also pleased to have been quoted by Matt LaWell in IndustryWeek in his write-up of today’s Federal Reserve industrial production figures.

Heckuva busy day today!  Hot on the heels of my interview on Connecticut’s WATR-AM, and the publication of my new article in The Hill, I’ll be appearing on John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio program tonight to discuss President Obama’s big Pacific Rim trade deal and its likely impact on the U.S. economy. John, co-host Gordon Chang, and I will also be focusing on the fast track legislation that would give the president a near-blank check to pursue the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

If you can’t tune in at 10 PM EST tonight, I’ll post a link to the podcast as soon as one is available.  But wouldn’t it be more fun to listen live at this link?

As promised, here’s the link to the podcast of my appearance last night on John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio show.  This segment was especially interesting, as John, co-host Gordon Chang, and I didn’t quite see eye-to-eye on whether China’s footprint on the world economy, and its impact on the United States’ future (including as “America’s banker”) are still growing or shrinking.  Our conversation starts off right at the beginning of the podcast.

As promised, here’s the podcast of my appearance last night on John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio show. The conversation covered not only China’s harassment of foreign multinationals and what it means for U.S. and world trade, but how it relates to a relentless, mercantilist Chinese drive for economic power that threatens U.S. national security. The segment starts at the top of the hour.
