I’m pleased to announce that I’m scheduled to return to John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio show tonight to help John and co-host Gordon G. Chang preview President Trump’s scheduled one-on-one meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping at this week’s big global summit in Argentina. Click on this link to listen on-line – starting at 10 PM EST – to what’s sure to be a timely discussion of where the Sino-American trade wars stand to date, and what’s likely to come up.

In addition, it was great to be quoted in Gordon’s own scouting report on the Trump-Xi meeting in a National Interest post today. Here’s the link. Moreover, Gordon’s article was reprinted at Yahoo.com.

Also today, Ted Evanoff of the Memphis (Tenn.) Commercial-Appeal presented some of my views in his article on this week’s General Motors layoffs. As I’ve written previously, Ted is one of the very best automotive and manufacturing reporters I’ve encountered (and I’ve encountered a lot of them!), and all of his article is very much worth reading.

I’m pleased to announce that I’m scheduled to return to John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio show tonight.  The segment, slated to begin at 9:45 PM EST, will focus on the question of how much manufacturing could be brought back to the United States if President Trump succeeds in overhauling the nation’s trade policy.

Click here to listen on-line to what’s sure to be an informative discussion among John, co-host Gordon G. Chang, and me.  And as usual, I’ll post a link to the podcast as soon as one’s available.

In addition, today I was quoted by Ted Evanoff of the Memphis (Tenn.) Commercial Appeal in a long story examining trade policy’s role in shaping domestic manufacturing and the broader national economy.  Here’s the link.

I’m pleased to announce that the podcast is now on-line of my latest appearance on “The Joe Piscopo Show” on New York City’s AM 970 “The Answer” radio station. Unfortunately, the invite was too last minute to preview here, but luckily all you need to do to listen to a great discussion (with guest host Frank Morano) about where we stand currently with President Trump’s “trade wars” and their impact is click on to this link.  My segment comes on at about the 22:25 mark.

On July 26, my skepticism about the new trade agreement between Mr. Trump and the European Union was reported in this post on Lifezette.com. Click onto this post to read about the subject in more detail.

Also, it was great to be quoted on the possibility of Trump auto tariffs by in Ted Evanoff’s July 25 article on the subject in the Memphis (Tennessee) Commercial Appeal. Ted, incidentally, is a journalist who’s become a genuine expert on this topic. His 2010 book on the American automotive industry’s struggles to overcome the last recession and deeper rooted challenges is an absolute must for anyone interested in manufacturing and trade issues.

I’m pleased to announce that a new op-ed of mine was published yesterday – a post on the website of the foreign policy journal The National Interest on some of the more fundamental issues raised by the Trump administration’s tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. Click here to read my argument that the uproar over the levies reveals a major disagreement tension between the ideal of free trade and the ideal of free markets.

In addition, I’m scheduled to reappear on John Batchelor’s nationally syndicated radio show tonight on the Trump administration’s decision to block a foreign takeover of the U.S. semiconductor company Qualcomm. The segment is slated to begin at 10:15 PM EST, and you can listen live at this link. As usual, I’ll post a link to the podcast as soon as one’s available.

And I just found out that on March 8, Ted Evanoff of the Memphis (Tennessee) Commercial Appeal quoted me in a piece on the economic impact of the Trump tariffs. Ted is one of the country’s best manufacturing reporters, and his 2010 book At the Crossroads is a superb history of the modern American automobile industry and why its fortunes sank so sharply through the outbreak of the financial crisis. So I’m always flattered to know that he’s keeping up with my work.
